I'm really immature

I took this picture months ago. I just happened to have my camera in my purse. No, no one saw me at least I don't think so.
I made this tote last week and had to make small changes in the handles. I had to tuck the edges in and sew on the right side of the fabric but I don't think it looks bad at all. I think other than the many aprons I've sewn this is the best thing I've ever made and useful too! If anyone knows of a tool that helps you turn small tubes of fabric right side out let me know.

This picture kind of shows the inside of the bag. Other than the handles it was pretty easy.

Braden joined the summer reading club at the library and this is his prize for reading his first 5 books. It matches the sunburn on his cheeks.

Eat your spinach

The 1st pic is a crust less spinach & ham quiche with Kraft mac & cheese from the box. It's been a while since I've eaten mac & cheese it was kind of a let down but in Kraft's defence I didn't use much butter.

This was last night's dinner. Spinach, corn, black bean, and cheese quesadilla. The second picture is Braden's cause it has extra cheese.

I'm leaving for vacation in three days so I'm trying to empty out the pantry and fridge. I still have some spinach but I don't think I'll torture Mike with anymore for dinner. I can't wait to post pics of our vacation.

Some Kind of Stir Fry

This stir fry was pretty yummy it has salmon, egg, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, and onions and I served it with some whole wheat noodles. I pretty much emptied out all the half bags of veggies I had into a skillet seasoned it with soy sauce and called it a stir fry. Mike pretty much hates everything in this dish I felt kind of bad about that, so the next time I made broccoli at dinner I gave him a side of green beans instead but he did not eat those either. He put them in a Tupperware container and said he'd eat them later, sure. I know that trick.

I love having the kids home for summer vacation. I spend most everyday at the pool with the kids which is great exercise!

Chickpea Curry

So I was reading through some of my old posts and I have come a long way physically. I can jog a whole mile, and even if I don't jog, Mike and I always walk 3 miles in the evening. So anyway just had to brag on myself a little, and I'm so proud of Mike too we've both made some really healthy changes in the last few months. I really wanted to post a picture of my prize today but my camera sucks. Mike brings me prizes from work and today it was candy money! and a half eaten bag of popcorn (IDK). What can I say I'm easily pleased.

This was dinner and I really have no idea what it is. Chickpea curry maybe? Mike and I went to a Lebanese cafe and I was trying to recreate their "rice". I think the menu said bulgar (honestly don't know what that is)but the owner called it rice. This is the second time I've made it and I used brown rice but tonight I had to take out a lot of the heat and even then everyone said it was really really spicy. I've been eating lots of spicy food lately even adding cayenne to scrambled eggs. I don't know what that's all about.

I'm baaack

I chuckled at my last post, the last post didn't even compare to what came next, entire apartment flooded, moving to a new apartment (mostly by myself while Mike was at work)and going without Internet, cable and phone for almost a month. I didn't have to wait that long but Comcast wanted almost $100 to transfer services. I thought it was outrageous! My cable bill was close to $200 a month I payed on time every month, they didn't even have to send me a bill I was a paperless customer. In my opinion they should have tried to keep me as a customer they could have given me free installation (like At&T did) but instead they lost $2400 a year. Let's say I live to be 70, that's almost $100,000! I refuse to go to lots of stores for reasons similar to this and it probably drives Mike nuts. Anyway, going without Internet was inconvenient at times for example I took us off mailing lists long ago so we don't even have a phonebook, and I don't receive bills, I always pay online so I paid them when I went to visit a family member. Other than that I kind of enjoyed it, I never felt rushed and seemed to have more time. I didn't care if we stayed out all day or spent a few hours walking the track there wasn't anything else to do and I didn't really care that I missed a favorite TV show. But last night it was really hard to walk away from the John & Kate episode I missed last week to go to the track and I didn't do the full 3 miles because I didn't want to miss the new one. Also I stayed on the couch from 8-11pm watching TV and then went to bed. A few weeks ago I would have spent that time cleaning the kitchen or with Mike. I really need to find some balance...
